I often ponder if my small efforts at living *GREEN* really make a difference... I've had long discussions with my 86 year old Father about this. He lives on 3 acres in the Santa Cruz Mountains and I admire how he treads so softly on this planet. My parents bought 10 acres off Old Santa Cruz Highway when I was 3 years old. We moved up to the Mountains because the air was so polluted down in San Jose that I was constantly sick. My parents knew that the air was the culprit so they scoured the Santa Cruz Mountains on weekends searching for the perfect piece of property where we could live and flourish. And what a beautiful piece of property they found ! They found 10 acres with an old cottage in need of major repairs, a carport and an old cement swimming pool that looked more like a pond. I loved living in the mountains !
